It is a day which hold a great prominence in the Indian Calendar. 15th January of each year since 1949, is considered as Army Day. It is an auspicious day celebrated in the remembrance of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa’s taking over the First Commander-in-Cheif of the Indian Army.
